The market, which will operate every Thursday, went operational today, Thursday, September 17, 2026, at Bocom Park, opposite the former 3813, along the Tiko-Douala Road.

The space serves residents of Movange, small Ekange, commandent street and Bocom neighborhoods, who were seen settling on marked plots in an open field, with makeshift tables, umbrellas and wooden benches.

On the ground, traders — mostly women selling foodstuffs and household items — were seen arranging their spots demarcated with small pegs on the grassy field. While infrastructure is still basic, traders expressed immense joy and gratitude to the Tiko Municipality for the gesture.

The Council is expected to provide more facilities including stalls, water and sanitation as the market takes shape, in line with its previous market projects in Likomba and Mutengene..
