TIKO – Tiko Council has commenced the demarcation of road corridors along Bobga Street, Buea Road, Mutengene, through Electric Line to the Full Gospel Entrance on Limbe Road, as preparations continue for an upcoming road pavement project.

The exercise, which took place on Monday, June 15, 2026, followed a consultation meeting held on June 8, 2026, between the Council and owners of structures located along the affected road stretch.

Leading the demarcation exercise was the Mayor of Tiko Council, HRH Dr. Peter Ikome Mesoso III, accompanied by the Fourth Deputy Mayor, Waindim Rudolf; the Chief of Technical Service, Mrs. Glory Agbor; Town Planning Officer, Engr. Esunge John; Municipal Police Officers; members of the Hygiene and Sanitation Team; and other Council officials.

During the exercise, residents cooperated with the Tiko Council team, in line with the agreement reached during the consultation meeting chaired by the Mayor at the Tiko Council Hall.

Addressing inhabitants during the field activity, Mayor HRH Dr. Peter Ikome Mesoso III reiterated that the road pavement project is a development initiative and that no individual is being targeted or discriminated against.

He encouraged residents to continue supporting the process, stressing that their collaboration is essential for the successful execution of the project.

The Mayor recalled that a similar approach was adopted during the pavement of roads in Likomba, from the bridge through the market to Tchombes Quarter, where consultations were held with residents whose structures encroached on the road reserve before demarcation was carried out.

The Council says the ongoing exercise reflects its commitment to participatory development, improved infrastructure, and enhanced mobility within Tiko Municipality.
