The municipality of Tiko, also known as the gateway municipality, is gradually being transformed into an Eldorado with paved roads throughout.
Since HRH Dr. Peter Ikome Mesoso III and his team took over the helm of Tiko Council in 2020, the municipality has been a construction site, from Mongo Zone through Tiko Central to Mutengene.

Days after the Chief of Town Planning, Engineer Esunge John, and his team marked encroaching structures along Bobga Street, Buea Road, Mutengene through Electric Line to Full Gospel Entrance, Limbe Road, Mutengene, in preparation for pavement, Mayor HRH Dr. Peter Ikome Mesoso III, accompanied by the Fourth Deputy Mayor, Waindim Rudolf, and council staff, visited the same site on Thursday, June 4, 2026.
The visit was to once again sensitize residents on the importance of beautifying Mutengene in particular, and Tiko Municipality in general.

Mayor HRH Dr. Peter Ikome Mesoso III told the population that when development comes, some rejoice while others complain. He called on those whose structures have encroached on the road to demolish them quickly, so that the 100 million FCFA allocated for the pavement of this stretch of road does not return to Yaoundé.

As the father of the municipality, HRH Dr. Mesoso III invited some residents for a meeting to discuss the demolition exercise, so that council work can begin quickly, while others will receive notifications from the court regarding demolition.
It should be noted that in March 2024, Tiko Council Mayor HRH Dr. Peter Ikome Mesoso III led a delegation from the Council to Bobga Street, Buea Road, Mutengene through Electric Line to Full Gospel Entrance, Limbe Road, for a sensitization exercise on the pavement of that stretch of road and the demolition of encroaching structures.
