The Divisional Officer of Tiko, Mr. Nokuri Samuel, alongside the Mayor of Tiko Council, HRH Dr. Peter Ikome Mesoso III, have inaugurated the Tiko Council Farm Market at the Motor Park along the Tiko-Douala Road.

The inauguration ceremony took place on Thursday, September 24, 2026, at the market site, in the presence of top security officials of the Sub-division, the Tiko Council Municipal Treasurer, Mr. Robert Mbella, Service and Bureau Heads, Tiko Council staff, traders and sellers of the market.

During the ceremony, Mayor HRH Dr. Peter Ikome Mesoso III called on traders to respect hygiene and sanitation rules and to avoid fighting in the market. He also announced that a Market Management Committee will be created in the days ahead to ease the day-to-day activities of the farm market.

It should be noted that the market will run every Thursday in the municipality.

Speaking on behalf of fellow traders, a trader expressed joy over the creation of the market, noting that it will help boost the local economy. She thanked the Tiko Council under the leadership of Mayor Mesoso III for the initiative and the gifts offered, praying that God should bless him and the Tiko Council.
