Tiko Council launches Inter Quarters and Zonal Competition as part of the 2026 Clean city Contest

As there is a saying that cleanliness is next to Godliness, the gateway municipality of Tiko under the guidance of Mayor HRH Dr Peter Ikome Mesoso III has launched a cleanliness Compétition involving all Quarters and Zones throughout Tiko Municipality.

The exercise which will go a long way to keep the Municipality clean will see quarters going home with wonderful Prizes.

According to Mayor HRH Dr Peter Ikome Mesoso III, the cleanliness Compétition is in prelude of the clean city Contest for 2026.

He made the announcement during a meeting that brought together Quarter Heads and Zonal Committee Chairpersons on Friday April 10, 2026 at the Tiko Council hall.

Mayor HRH Dr Mesoso III called on the population of the Municipality to put their hands behind the council by making sure they keep their environment clean as they need their support now more than ever before.

It should be noted that during the reign of the current Mayor HRH Dr Peter Ikome Mesoso III and his team, Tiko Council came first during the 2023 clean city Contest in the south West region and went to the national finals in Garoua and came fourth.

Mayor HRH Dr Peter Ikome Mesoso III made it clear that it was because of Tiko Council position in the National finals of clean city in 2023 that the ministry of Urban Development and Housing gave a Machine for the Pavement of Bricks to the council, and awarded the contract for the Pavement of road from Bocom through the Tiko District hospital and Hospital layout bridge which has been completed.

The Gateway city of Tiko for the past days has received a new facelift in terms of Hygiene and Sanitation, infrastructural développement, among others.
