The Lord Mayor of the Tiko Council, HRH Chief Dr Peter Ikome Mesoso III, on Tuesday, December 23, 2025, celebrated Christmas with workers of the Tiko Council, Zonal Committee members, and Persons Living with Disabilities, in the presence of the Regional Delegate of MINDDEVEL for the South West Region.
The event, which took place at the Tiko Council Banquet Hall, witnessed the distribution of basic Christmas staples including bags of rice, vegetable oil, and fowls.
It also featured a brief interactive meeting between the Mayor, council staff, and other beneficiaries of the Mayor’s generosity.
During the gathering, Mayor Mesoso III was commended for his transparency in leadership and Administration. Speaking on behalf of the staff of the Tiko Council, the Staff Delegate, for College 2, Masaar Josephine, reaffirmed the commitment of workers to remain steadfast, disciplined, and diligent in the discharge of their duties.

The President of the Tiko Council Social Club, Engineer Jean Esunge, used the opportunity to call on members of the social club to be actively involved in the positive branding of the council, particularly through responsible engagement on social media platforms by sharing Tiko Council projects online.
Zonal Committee Chairpersons equally applauded the Mayor for his humility, accessibility, and availability to the population of Tiko Municipality.
Persons Living with Disabilities also expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Mayor for the continuous support he has provided to them since assuming office in March 2020.
In his closing remarks, the Regional Delegate of MINDDEVEL for the South West Region encouraged the staff of the Tiko Council to remain diligent, committed, and assiduous in their work, emphasizing that collective effort and professionalism are key to ensuring that the image and reputation of the Tiko Council continue to soar.
The event ended on a note of unity, gratitude, and renewed commitment, as the Mayor’s Christmas gesture reinforced the values of inclusiveness, solidarity, and service that define the leadership of the Tiko Council.
