KFW, GIZ, FEICOM Delegation express Satisfaction with the Mutengene Water project

A Team from The German Cooperation, KFW, GIZ and FEICOM accompanied by the Mayor of Tiko council, HRH Dr Peter Ikome Mesoso III, Fourth Deputy Mayor, Rudolf Waindim, Communal Development Officer, HRH Mbollo Ndedi Yves among others on Saturday December 6, 2025 visited Standby Taps and Catchment site at mile 14, Dibanda which are part of the mutengene water project.

The visit that was timely was for the team to evaluate and see for themselves what was done as concern the project and how beneficial it is to the population.

The Delegation from Germany, KFW, GIZ and FEICOM appreciated Tiko Council headed by mayor HRH Dr Peter Ikome Mesoso III for their hospitality and were happy with the reactions they received from the beneficiaries of the project on site.

During a brief working session at the Mayor’s office, the mayor outlined what the council has put inplace for the sustainability of the project and envisage expansion to other neighborhoods such as Likomba and Tiko.

Tiko Council Communal Development Officer, HRH Mbollo Ndedi Yves on his part gave a brief history of how the project came up that is in 2014, Execution in 2020 in three phases, and went further that 40 standby taps were constructed and how the council has created a water management committee ( involving the community and council), and recruitment of Technicians.

It should be noted that the Mutengene Water project was inaugurated on June 4, 2024 by the Minister of Decentralization and Local Development, Georges Elanga Obam in the presence of the then German Ambassador to Cameroon, Dr. Corinna Fricke, South West Governor, Bernard Okalia General Manager of FEICOM, Philippe Camille Akoa, Tiko Council Mayor, HRH Dr Peter Ikome Mesoso III among others.

The project is a partnership between the Cameroon and German Cooperation.
