In a show of hands-on leadership, the Mayor of Tiko Council, HRH Dr. Peter Ikome Mesoso III, led a special cleanup campaign targeting blocked gutters throughout the municipality. Known as a “field mayor,” Dr. Mesoso was present at the Mutengene Roundabout, personally assisting the Technical Services, Town Planning, and Hygiene and Sanitation Services in this crucial exercise.
At the mobile roundabout in Mutengene, the mayor, alongside the heads of the three services—Madam Glory Agbor, Engineer Esunge John, and Abah Bruno—joined their staff in manually opening and clearing blocked gutters.
Residents and onlookers in the area expressed joy and appreciation upon witnessing the council team’s intervention, especially as the region is currently in the peak of the rainy season.
Mayor Mesoso III gave onsite directives to the teams, emphasizing the importance of the task. In his words and actions, he reaffirmed the principle that “cleanliness is next to godliness,” highlighting the council’s commitment to public hygiene and environmental health.
