Tiko Council Staff Participate in Workshop on Empowering Local Development Structures and Women-Led Organizations for the Localization of UNSCR 1325
Tiko Council staff members, Lucrece Armande and Sarah Mongolo, actively participated in a two-day workshop focused on ‘Empowering Local Development Structures and Women-Led Organizations for the Localization of UNSCR 1325.’
This important capacity-building session that brought together key stakeholders to enhance Local Development frameworks while promoting the meaningful inclusion of women-led organizations in peacebuilding and conflict resolution processes, in alignment with United Nations Security Council Resolution 1325 took place at the Multipurpose Empowerment Centre, Buea Town from Thursday February 27- Friday February 28, 2025
The workshop that was aimed to strengthen the role of local Councils and community-based organizations in advancing Gender equality, ensuring women’s voices are heard in decision-making spaces, and promoting sustainable peace at the grassroots level.
By attending this workshop, Tiko Council reaffirms its commitment to advancing women’s Empowerment, fostering inclusive Development, and supporting local peace and security initiatives in line with national and international frameworks.
