The Mayor of Tiko Council, HRH Dr Peter Ikome Mesoso III in the company of the Regional Delegate of Decentralization and Local Development South West, on Wednesday July 23, 2025 launched the practical session for the manufacturing of pavement bricks and laying Techniques which is part of the ministry of Urban Development and Housing 2025 Financial project for 50 Youths of the gateway city of Tiko to benefit.
The launching of the project at the pavement site in likomba also witnessed the presence of Tiko Council Communal Development officer, HRH Mbollo Ndedi Yves, the facilitator of the Trainees, Mr Ayuk John and amongst others.
The launching came after a Theory session that took place at the Tiko Banquet hall, attended by the Regional Delegate of Urban Development and Housing, South West, fourth Deputy Mayor Tiko Council, Waindim Rudolf representing the mayor, Tiko Council Communal Development officer, HRH Mbollo Ndedi Yves, the chief of Town planning Tiko Council, Engineer Esunge John amongst others
The training of these Youths in Tiko municipality will go a long way for them to gained skills in the manufacturing of pavement bricks and laying Techniques as most of the roads of the municipality are been constructed with Pavement bricks, and to an extent they will act as labour force when the council is carrying out such projects.
It should be noted that just three councils in the south west region( Tiko, Mamfe and Kumba 2) were selected for the exercise by the ministry of Urban Development and Housing.
