Five months after installing contractors incharge of beautifying the area around the Mongo bridge on September 7, 2024 by Tiko Council Mayor HRH Dr Peter Ikome Mesoso III, the structure was officially handed to the population on Wednesday March 19, 2025 by the XTRA contracting firm.

The project which was carried out by the South West Development Authority, SOWEDA, for the construction of Hangars where they were selling Food and fruits which will go a long way to beautify the entrance into Tiko municipality which is the gateway into the South west region from the litoral region has been a 2025 Gifts to the Traders of the area.

The installation of contractors for the project last September 7, 2025 witnessed the presence of Mayor Mesoso III, the then Assistant Divisional officer for Tiko, Mr Elvis Egbe, the chief of Town Planning Tiko Council, Engineer John Esunge, Contractor to the project(XTRA firm) and fruits and Food Vendors at the site.
With the construction of Hangars, and a modern toilet at the site by Soweda, it will help to protect the Vendors items and ease their activities.
The handing over of the hangars to Tiko Municipality witnessed the presence of the fourth Deputy Mayor, Waindim Rudolf, chief of Technical Service, Madam Glory Agbor, chief of Local Solutions, Mr Julius Sone, the Director of Administration and Finance South West Development Authority, Soweda, Mr Baloko Benson, the contractor, Mr Sosthene Njoh and Vendors.
