On July 13, 2024, Day 2 of the Italy-Cameroon Decentralized Cooperation Business Forum provided a vibrant platform for the Cameroon delegation, particularly the Tiko Council, to present ambitious development projects. The delegation visited the Emilia Romagna Chambers of Commerce, where they were warmly received by President Mr. Landi.
During this productive session, Tiko Council Mayor HRH Peter Ikome Mesoso III highlighted three major initiatives aimed at enhancing local infrastructure and promoting sustainable development. The projects included:
- Construction of a Bridge at the General Hospital: This project aims to improve access to healthcare facilities, facilitating transportation for patients and medical staff.
- Development of the Wharf: Enhancing the wharf is expected to boost trade and improve logistics for local businesses, fostering economic growth in the region.
- Five-Star Hotel: The proposed hotel will promote tourism, providing quality accommodations and creating job opportunities for local residents.
- Solar Energy Initiative: Aiming for sustainability, this project focuses on harnessing solar energy to meet the region’s power needs, reducing reliance on conventional energy sources.
The meeting with investors not only showcased Tiko’s commitment to development but also opened avenues for potential partnerships and investments. The forum serves as a vital bridge for cooperation, with Tiko Council leading the way in transforming local vision into actionable projects that promise to uplift the community. As discussions continue, the hope is that these initiatives will attract the necessary support to turn these ambitious plans into reality, driving progress in Tiko and beyond.
